The venerable Deer Creek Fiddlers’ Convention joins up with the Common Ground on the Hill Roots Music & Arts Festival for a day of shade tree picking, performance, arts, food, and fun! Band & individual categories, as well as the Eileen Carson Schatz Southern Appalachian Clogging Contest. Win cash, instrument and performance prizes! Contestant tickets include access to all of the Roots Music & Arts Festival performances!
The Roots Music & Arts Festival features headlining mandolin virtuoso duo Mike Marshall & Caterina Lichtenberg, as well as headliners Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen, Blues Hall of Fame band Professor Louie & the Crowmatix, and old-time band Boojum with Joe Troop of Che Apalache. Other acts include Mandolins on the Hill with Barry Mitterhoff, Sparky & Rhonda Rucker, Steafan Hannigan & Saskia Tomkins, Kelly Brzozowski, and many more. Host band: Walt Michael & Co.
Air-conditioned performance spaces, arts and food vendors, wine & beer garden featuring wine from Wide Roots and beer from Pub Dog.
Deer Creek contestant tickets $25/$15
Roots Music & Arts Festival tickets $50/$45. Teen $20; children 12 and under free.
