The DC Bluegrass Union sponsors Common Ground on the Hill to provide the opportunity to teach and to study various musical instruments, especially Bluegrass instruments, as well as various art forms representing various ethnic and cultural traditions.
There is something for everyone!
Enjoy a week of intensive instruction with Industry professionals. You can stay the night in the college dormitories and enjoy the evening concerts and jams OR you can be a day student.

With over three decades in the bluegrass scene, local music legends Nothin’ Fancy make their Hylton Center debut showcasing smooth vocal blends and irrepressible chemistry. With 17 albums and a spot in the Virginia Country Music Hall of Fame, Nothin’ Fancy creates “music [that] teems with an honesty and humility borne from a decidedly down-home demeanor” (Bluegrass Today).
Snacks and beverages will be available for purchase and can be enjoyed in the venue during the performance.
