It’s time to finish you compositions!

The Mike Auldridge Instrumental Composition Contest honors the life and musicianship of one of America’s greatest bluegrass players.

Entries must be entered between August 18, 2024 and October 14, 2024.

On the 3rd Sunday of each month from 5-7 pm, the DC Bluegrass Union will host our Old School Open Mic (OSOM) at Lucketts Community Center, 42361 Lucketts Road, Leesburg, VA. On September 15, Serene Green members, Michael Johnson & Quentin “Q” Fisher will be available for accompaniment. **SIGN UP UPON ARRIVAL**

One important aspect of DCBU’s mission is to promote music education. We offer an instructor directory so students can locate teachers in their local area for in-person instruction. Additionally, since so many great musicians teach online classes, we’re now posting information for instructors wherever they are located. To sign-up as an instructor fill out the form by selecting the link below. Your submission will be reviewed and added to our directory within a few days.

David Parmley and his band

Best known for his talent standing next to his Dad, Don Parmley, brought new generation to their feet back in the 70’s when they made their move from California to the Washington, DC area. David Parmley has since led his own solo career with bands such as Continental Divide and the Cardinal Tradition. Keeping to his traditional roots David Parmley excited to start this new chapter in music with an all-new traditional bluegrass band.
