Celebrating old-time mountain music singers-songwriter Ola Belle Reed, this gallery exhibit features photos, videos and items from the Maryland Traditions Archive’s Ola Belle Reed collection.

Co-curated by the Library Gallery’s Curator of Exhibitions Emily Cullen and Media and Communications Studies Professor Bill Shewbridge with Tim Newby, author of Baltimore: The Hard Drivin’ Sound & its Legacy (McFarland and Company, Inc. 2015).

Washington Folk Festival
Glen Echo Park, Glen Echo MD

In its 41st year, the Washington Folk Festival returns to Glen Echo Park, MD on June 3 & 4 from 12 pm to 7pm each day with music of all kinds, participatory dance, a fine crafts market, and storytelling. Hosting more than 450 performers on 7 stages, the FREE festival celebrates the diverse American and international music styles to be found throughout the Washington area among the local and talented performers.
