The goal of this class is to help students expand their repertoire while honing the skills required to play with others and be creative while doing it. Each session students will learn 1 fiddle tune and 1 song from the bluegrass repertoire. The class will go over basic lead playing and accompaniment to get started, and offer some ideas to take it a little further with embellishments, improvisation, kickoffs and endings.

Materials will be provided for guitar, banjo, fiddle and mandolin.

The Grascals
The Grascals on Sunday February 11, 2024, at the Calvert Elks Lodge #2620 in Prince Frederick, MD. The doors will open at Noon and the performance will start at 2:00 PM.
Tickets will be $23.00 per person and sold at the door beginning at Noon. Children under 12 are admitted free with a paying adult. Food will be available for sale by the Calvert Elks Lodge beginning at noon. As always there will be a 50/50 raffle and door prizes.

Jim Robeson is a Grammy winning recording engineer who has helped so many of us in the bluegrass music community capture the magic in our music. The roster of artists Jim’s recorded include The Johnson Mountain Boys, The Lynn Morris Band, The Seldom Scene, Kathy Fink & Marcy Marxer, Dede Wyland, Big Howdy and many more.

Jim’s wife, Marianne, has been struggling with a challenging medical condition and costs for her ongoing treatment have been outpaced by what Medicare will cover. Let’s take care of our own in this great bluegrass community of ours. Come on out to this amazing concert/fundraiser on February 11th!
