Big Howdy is a DC-based progressive bluegrass band featuring the duet singing of Dede Wyland and Randy Barrett. The group offers a mix of original songs plus reinterpretations of classic country, bluegrass and roots material. Dede is a nationally recognized vocalist while Randy is a well-established singer songwriter and banjoist. Together with Ira Gitlin on bass and Tom McLaughlin on mandolin, Big Howdy sounds unlike any other band. And that’s the way they like it.

Remember those LPs from the 1950s and 60s labeled “High Fidelity”? These young performers are steeped in the bluegrass music of those years. Inspired by the sounds of Jim & Jesse, The Stanley Brothers and Reno & Smiley, High Fidelity interprets classic bluegrass through their own fresh perspective. The band usually consists of Jeremy Stephens (guitar), Corrina Rose Logston (fiddle), Kurt Stephenson (banjo), Vickie Vaughn (bass) and multi-instrumentalist Daniel Amick. Doors open 6 PM. Show 7 PM.
