The Mike Auldridge Instrumental Composition Contest honors the life and musicianship of one of America’s greatest bluegrass players.
Entries must be entered between August 18, 2024 and October 14, 2024.
On the 3rd Sunday of each month from 5-7 pm, the DC Bluegrass Union will host our Old School Open Mic (OSOM) at Lucketts Community Center, 42361 Lucketts Road, Leesburg, VA. On September 15, Serene Green members, Michael Johnson & Quentin “Q” Fisher will be available for accompaniment. **SIGN UP UPON ARRIVAL**
One important aspect of DCBU’s mission is to promote music education. We offer an instructor directory so students can locate teachers in their local area for in-person instruction. Additionally, since so many great musicians teach online classes, we’re now posting information for instructors wherever they are located. Now leading his own band, Rick offers a seamless blend of traditional bluegrass and contemporary influences, with a passion for storytelling through music. This bluegrass band is sure to grow in influence and popularity. Doors open 6 pm for first-come-first-serve seating. Show at 7 pm. Adults $22. Youth 5-17 $5. Tickets available online or at door.
