The Mike Auldridge Instrumental Composition Contest honors the life and musicianship of one of America’s greatest bluegrass players.
Entries must be entered between August 18, 2024 and October 14, 2024.
On the 3rd Sunday of each month from 5-7 pm, the DC Bluegrass Union will host our Old School Open Mic (OSOM) at Lucketts Community Center, 42361 Lucketts Road, Leesburg, VA. On September 15, Serene Green members, Michael Johnson & Quentin “Q” Fisher will be available for accompaniment. **SIGN UP UPON ARRIVAL**
One important aspect of DCBU’s mission is to promote music education. We offer an instructor directory so students can locate teachers in their local area for in-person instruction. Additionally, since so many great musicians teach online classes, we’re now posting information for instructors wherever they are located. Put on your favorite camo attire and join us for an outdoor worship service at Popes Creek Baptist Church.
Join us as we ask for the Lord’s blessing prior to the 2024 General Firearm Season and honor our Veterans! The event kicks off with a Hound Bench Show at 9 a.m., and the Outdoor Worship Service starts at 10:30 a.m. There will be free lunch, door prizes, games, a deer head contest, and a best-dressed camo competition!
