It was a busy 2022 for the DC Bluegrass Union board and members with lots of opportunities to get out and enjoy some bluegrass music all around the area.
We arranged two super community celebration events honoring a trio local luminaries- Bob Perilla, Mary Cliff and Tom Knowles- with great music and jamming. The Bob Perilla’s Big Hillbilly Birthday Jamboree was held in Bethesda in June and featured some great music with Moose Jaw Bluegrass setting the stage and hosting many guest players and friends. This was our first Birthday event and really set the tone for future events.
In October, we were in Virginia for and celebrated Mary and Tom with a musical cook-out and jam. Cherry Hill Park has been the site of our spring pick-nick events and has plenty of shade – and room- to accommodate a large gathering. Both events were well attended and supportive of the opportunity to visit with friends and our honorees.
