DC Bluegrass Union supports composers- authors of both songs and  instrumental compositions. We handled nearly 200 combined entries for the Mike Auldridge Instrumental Contest and the Hazel Dickens Song Contest, awarding a total of $1,700 to the top three selections in the two contests.  Thats real money for content creators!

We continue to benefit from the continued efforts by Randy Barrett and Tom McLaughlin, who have been the contest administrators since first implemented. Randy is a past DCBU president who remains a valued resource since his departure. Tom catalogs the entries and bundles for judging.

DCBU works to keep the music flowing all around the DC Metro area and provide opportunities for songwriters and instrumentalists to expose their compositions. Bluegrass needs great material, and we’re actively helping to make this happen.
